Psychoeducational Services

We are Florida-licensed school psychologists with over 22 years of service to students, families, and schools. Our expertise lies in identifying the individual learning patterns of students and providing tailored recommendations to help them succeed.

Do you know how your child learns best?

Every student has unique strengths and challenges. Without a clear understanding of how a child learns, parents and teachers may struggle to provide the most effective instruction and support. Our evaluations offer meaningful insight into each child’s cognitive profiles to help families and educators understand how their students learn and how to best support them at home and school.

Our Back-to-School initiative allows students to be evaluated early, so they can receive academic support at the beginning of the school year instead of many months later. For a limited time, families can take advantage of our Back-to-School promotion and receive high-quality, comprehensive evaluations at a reduced rate.

“Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.”

— Robert John Meehan

We administer psychoeducational evaluations to students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grades

We specialize in providing comprehensive psychoeducational services and have conducted over 2,000 evaluations within the past 22 years. Our evaluations help parents and teachers identify students' learning profiles and discover personalized strategies to help them succeed.

We offer the following in-person & virtual evaluations:

  • Intellectual Ability & Cognitive Processing

Intellectual and cognitive processing tests provide insight into students’ problem-solving abilities and help identify their cognitive strengths and weaknesses. These assessments reveal how each student learns most effectively.

  • Academic Achievement

Academic tests measure levels of achievement in reading, math, and/or writing. A student’s test results will reveal their specific academic strengths, and will pinpoint any academic deficits that need to be addressed.

  • ADHD & Executive Function

ADHD and Executive Function evaluations provide information about a student's ability to pay attention, remember details, sit still without fidgeting, follow directions, use good planning and organizational skills, etc. A student’s evaluation results reveal if their behaviors are related to ADHD or not. Results also provide critical information to assist parents when making educational decisions and identifying interventions.

  • Autism & Adaptive Functioning

Autism and Adaptive Functioning Evaluations measure students’ social communication, social interactions, ability to complete tasks safely and independently, sensory sensitivities, ability to adjust well to change, and more. Results of these evaluations reveal if there are symptoms, behaviors, and associated features of Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or adaptive behavior delays. Evaluation results also provide parents with a better understanding of the level of support students require at home and school.

  • Social-Emotional & Behavioral Functioning

Social-Emotional/Behavioral Evaluations provide information about a student’s feelings and overall view of themselves. Evaluation results give insight into their social skills, how well they cope with stress, their ability to manage their behaviors, etc. Evaluation results also help to identify any warning signs of concerns related to anxiety, depression, oppositional and/or defiant behaviors, etc. Results also assist parents and teachers with determining effective behavior plans to utilize within the home and school environments.

  • Early Childhood/Pre-K Screeners

Early Childhood & Pre-K Screeners utilize standardized assessments to help determine if a child shows average development, above average development, or is at-risk for developmental delays. Screener results reveal the type of support each child needs in order to learn and prepare for the instructional rigor of Kindergarten.

Our evaluation process is simple.

  • Submit a Consultation Request Form, to request a consultation with a licensed school psychologist. You will receive a response within 24 hours to schedule your consultation session.

  • During your consultation session, you will meet with a licensed school psychologist via phone call or virtual meeting. You may ask questions and discuss any concerns about your child’s progress. The school psychologist will assist you and ask clarifying questions to learn more about your child’s needs. At the end of your consultation, an evaluation plan will be presented and you can schedule the best day and time testing will begin. Consultation sessions usually take 30-60 minutes.

  • The evaluator and student will meet at the agreed upon time and testing will commence. Typically there will be 1-2 test sessions to give students a break and avoid test fatigue. Each test session may take an hour, more or less, depending on each student’s processing and response time.

  • We present your child’s evaluation results in a detailed, yet visually engaging and easy-to-understand format. We intentionally avoid using overwhelming and confusing test mumbo-jumbo, because we believe that when you clearly understand your child’s results, you’re better equipped to advocate for, teach, and support them effectively.

You are encouraged to ask questions at any time during the presentation. The evaluator will answer your questions and provide clinical recommendations to further assist your child.

You will also receive a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation report. Parents may keep their child's evaluation report for their own purposes or share the report with whomever they choose. Typically, parents share reports with professionals who work with their children such as teachers, therapists, doctors, etc.

We do not share evaluation information. All information is kept confidential according to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
